On October 28, 2025, Jamaica was struck by Hurricane Melissa — a Category 5 with sustained winds of 185 mph.  The most powerful hurricane to have hit the island in recorded history.  The storm resulted in roofs being torn off, widespread flooding and whole communities left without power or safe shelter. Schools and hospitals have been damaged or rendered inaccessible. 

The AJ Cultural & Education Fund, in collaboration with the Atlanta Jamaican Association, is seeking donations to assist with relief efforts.   Funds contributed during this critical time will go directly to support families in communities that have been most affected.
